2009 snooker kicks off with the Masters, with the Grand Prix and Welsh Open to follow and, of course, all the action from the World Championship at the Crucible. Ronnie O'Sullivan got off to a great start taking advantage of a couple of Joe Perry errors to edge into the quarter-finals of the Masters. The world number one fired in a century to level at 2-2 and cleared up to lead 3-2 before the duo traded centuries. Perry took the next two to lead 5-4 but missed pinks in the last two frames and after a lengthy safety exchange in the decider, O'Sullivan clinched a 6-5 win.
