Britain's Andy Murray has reached the Masters Cup semifinals with a 6-4, 6-2 victory Wednesday over Gilles Simon of France. Murray was at his best at the key points in the match, breaking twice in each set and fending off seven of Simon's eight break opportunities. However, the 21-year-old world number four had to fend off a mid-match fightback to join Serb Novak Djokovic in the last four on his debut at the $4.45 million season finale. "It was one of my best matches in recent months," Murray said who has recently been on a 14-match winning streak including three Masters wins. "He's tough, I just had to try and stay focused at the end of the first set. I had a chance to go 5-0 up and I didn't take it, and he got some confidence after that. But I knew I had to keep making him move, and eventually he started to break down. He made some mistakes in the second set and I capitalised."
